The UK's most popular dog breeds in 2021 have been revealed by Rover — and Mixed Breeds have taken the top spot for the fourth consecutive year.

To learn more about the UK's favourite pups, the team at Rover analysed their database from June 2021 until now. While gorgeous Mixed Breeds were crowned the most popular, the survey found Dachshunds had a 43% increase in adoption since 2020, while the French Bulldog also saw a strong rise of 29%.

Other rising stars include Labradors, Cockapoos and the intelligent Border Collie. As well as the most popular pups, Rover also found just how many pandemic pups have been taken on in the last year, with 42% of respondents saying they welcomed a dog into their home.

"When it comes to the top spot, it's difficult to see the Mixed breed being knocked off the podium anytime soon," Adem Fehmi, Canine Behaviourist for Rover, says.

"Mixed breeds can make wonderful pets and often have fewer health issues overall due to their out breeding and genetic diversity in comparison to some pure breeds. It is important however for people to look for the right individual dog for their home and lifestyle, rather than being set on a breed."
