Catch wild daffodils while they last at these 5 magical UK spots
Celebrate spring with a visit to these breathtaking spots where wild daffodils bloom in spectacular displays across the UK

With the arrival of spring comes an abundance of daffodils, bringing a cheerful burst of yellow into our homes. Whether you opt for the classic bright yellow trumpet shape, the more delicate frothy ‘Erlicheer’, tiny ‘Tête-à-Tête’ or softly scented paperwhites, these flowers uplift our homes and our moods.
The UK’s wild daffodils differ from the types we pick up from the florist or supermarket, or even those we grow in our own gardens. Often called ‘Lent lilies’, ‘Easter lilies’, or cenhinen Bedr in Welsh (which roughly translates as ‘Peter’s leek’), these flowers typically emerge during the Christian period of Lent, from March to April.
While they’re not as widespread as they once were due to habitat loss, there are still select places where their dazzling yellow flowers carpet wild meadows and woodland. Now is the best time to get out and see these wild daffodils while they last.
