Sir David Attenborough's new feature documentary, A Life On Our Planet, is set to premiere in cinemas globally from Monday 28th September after being postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak — and the first official clip has just been released.

The one-minute teaser begins with black and white footage of a young David Attenborough visiting the untouched wilderness of our planet, cuddling chimpanzees and journeying through the vast forest in Papua New Guinea.

In his 94 years, David has visited every continent on the globe, documenting earth in all its wonder. Now, for the first time, he reflects upon both the devastating changes and the defining moments he has seen across his lifetime in this must-see feature film.

Other highlights to look forward to include exclusive conversations with David and Sir Michael Palin, as well as David's first-hand account of humanity's impact on nature.

"For decades, David has brought the natural world to the homes of audiences worldwide, but there has never been a more significant moment for him to share his own story and reflections," Colin Butfield, WWF's executive producer for the film, says.

"This film coincides with a monumental year for environmental action as world leaders make critical decisions on nature and climate. It sends a powerful message from the most inspiring and celebrated naturalist of our time."

Keith Scholey, executive producer at Silverback Films, adds: "I've worked with David on many projects throughout my career, but to collaborate on this film, which is so important at this time, has been a real privilege.

"At 94 years old, his knowledge and insight of the natural world remains as relevant and cherished today as it was the first time he introduced the British public to pangolins and sloths on television. This new film will bring together those historic moments with his views on the current problems our natural world faces and how we can solve them."

A Life On Our Planet will be shown in cinemas around the world, including countries such as the UK, the Netherlands, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Australia and New Zealand. For more information and to find your local cinema see here.
