There are so many fantastic sunset spots around the UK, but where are the very best places to capture colour-soaked skies at the end of the day?

With summer officially here, the team at Goodrays used Tripadvisor data to uncover the UK's most beautiful sunset watching locations. Taking the top spot is the London Eye, followed by the Sky Garden and Calton Hill in Scotland, thanks to their breathtaking wrap-around views.

Unsurprisingly, other places that made the list include Arthur's Seat in Scotland and Stonehenge in Wiltshire — which commonly sees around 6,000 people gather to watch the sunrise on summer solstice.

Not only do sunsets make us feel incredibly serene, but previous studies have found they can have positive benefits on our mental wellbeing, offering the perfect moment of escapism each day.

"Getting fresh air is great for your mental health because it gets you away from tackling tasks at home and also using modern day technology. Watching the sunset is a great way to unwind and live in the moment," says Hilary Sims, Dip.Couns MBACP Registered, MNCS, and founder of Life Balance Counselling.
