• Ella Langley’s new album, Dandelion, drops this week.
  • The Alabama native opened up about her new songs on a podcast.
  • One song is getting a lot of attention from her fans.

Ella Langley is having an eventful start to spring as she gears up for the release of her sophomore album, Dandelion, on Friday, April 10. Last week, she released the official “Choosin’ Texas” music video, complete with a roster of cameos that kept fans’ heads on a swivel. This week, she’s on a press tour to deep dive into the project ahead of its debut. And with every interview comes a hint more insight into the album—take the inspiration behind “Bottom of Your Boots,” for example.

On Tuesday, April 7, Ella appeared on a new episode of This Past Weekend with Theo Von. During their sit-down, Ella and Theo talked about growing up in a small town, the grit it takes to embark on a country music career, and what it’s like when it finally lifts off. Of course, they also spent time promoting her new album. To do so, Ella told Theo he could choose any unreleased song from the tracklist, and they could debut it on the air. His pick? “Bottom of Your Boots.” The inspiration behind the song? Ella’s dad.

“My dad gave me that title, actually,” Ella revealed to Theo. “I was having a freak out one night—it’s actually kind of a sweet story—I mean, he was just giving me one of his, you know, ‘Baby, you’re fine… I love you from the bottom of my boots to the top of my hat’ [speeches].”

And just like that, a song title clicked in Ella’s mind. Meanwhile, the clip of her reveal has struck a chord among listeners.

“Oh my goodness. Everyone deserves a daddy’s love like this. She is stunning, and this song is precious,” one fan commented on the clip. “Ohhhhh that’s a jam,” someone else quipped. “I love that it came from her dad,” another fan wrote.

As many fans are swooning over Ella’s unreleased song, even more are weighing in on her chemistry with Theo. “Chemistry from the bottom of your boots to the top of your hat,” one Instagrammer commented. “Ask her out already Theo,” another fan exclaimed, garnering over 26,000 likes in the process. “Theo was just sitting there blushing for three hours hahahaha,” someone else remarked, drawing in another nearly 25,000 likes.

Could they be onto something? Regardless, Friday can’t come soon enough!
