Ella Langley’s star is shining bright, and she just received a special recognition at the iHeart Radio Awards Show. The broadcast aired on March 26, and the 26-year-old Alabama native was on hand to accept the award for Best New Country Artist.
Country fans might be surprised to find that Ella was nominated for Best New Country Artist alongside Chase Matthew, Hudson Westbrook, Josh Ross, and Zach Top. After all, her sophomore album, Dandelion, drops on April 10, her mega-hit “Choosin’ Texas” topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and she’ll be hitting the road in May for her cross-country headlining tour.
Despite all of her success, Ella was a bit star-struck at the awards show, as she admitted when she took the stage to accept her award.
“Man, I was sitting in between Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus for a lot of that tonight, so I’m a little lost for words,” she said. “You know the thing we’re always trying to do is get in there and write a good song, so to see what that can do is just wild.”
Ella continued, “Thank you, Jesus for putting this passion in my heart. Thank you to my team. I would not be the artist I am up here today if it weren’t for them. They help me make these crazy dreams come true. Thank you to my family for not yelling at me too loud when I practiced everything in my room for too long.”
She concluded her speech by saying, “This is just a dream come true. Thank you, iHeart.” The singer was also nominated for Best Lyrics (“Choosin’ Texas”) and Favorite Tour Style.
Ella wore a stunning dress by Morphew World for the event. According to the brand’s Instagram account, “The dress is made from Victorian and 1950s lace with vintage beaded fringe. The lace flowers are all draped and stitched by hand onto a chiffon base.”
Before she heads out on The Dandelion Tour, Ella returns as support for Morgan Wallen’s stadium shows. We know it won’t be long before we see her accepting another award.
