Disney fans are in for a real treat, as you can now visit the breathtaking castle which inspired Beauty and the Beast, in France.
Set in the beautiful French countryside, Chateau de Chambord will exceed your expectations, no matter how great. With 426 rooms, sweeping gardens, white-washed stone, idyllic views, turrets, tunnels, endless windows, a glistening lake and splendid regal touches, you certainly won't forget a visit here.
According to reports from Tyla, it's thought that production designer Sarah Greenwood, who worked on the Hollywood adaption of the Disney classic, payed a visit to the castle before she began working on the 2017 film. She was reportedly seen taking notes to get her own interpretation just right.
The castle was originally built as a hunting lodge between 1519 and 1547, and was never intended to be used as a home. However, King Louis XV's father-in-law, Stanislas I, did eventually live there during the 18th century.
If you're looking for a true Disney-style trip, you can explore the grounds on a horse and carriage just like a real-life princess. If you're in the mood for something more action-packed, there's the chance for visitors to watch live jousting or head to the birds of prey exhibition.
