The 10 most popular garden renovation trends this year so far have been revealed, with summerhouses, fire pits and pergolas leading the way.

We've all learnt how to stop, pause and observe our gardens as a result of nationwide lockdowns, but Flowercard wanted to analyse the outdoor DIY projects with the highest Google searches over the past 12 months — and the results come as no surprise.

Scooping the top spot is warming garden fire pits, with a whopping 4.7 million searches as Brits look for ways to add atmosphere to their summer soirées. In second and third place, respectively, came summerhouses and pergolas. Restrictions may be easing, but it seems households are still hunting for makeshift home offices — even if they're in the garden.

"Summerhouses are a perfect outdoor retreat where you can relax on a sunny day and can serve multiple purposes, whether you want an outdoor studio space, a garden work-from-home office, or just somewhere to chill out that provides shade from the heat for a while," Flowercard say.
