When it comes to creating the perfect garden, Brits favour nature, outdoor eating areas and hot tubs, new research has revealed.

In a bid to create the dream British garden, discount site MyVoucherCodes polled the nation to find out exactly how Britons would design their ideal outdoor space.

The company found that nature was the most popular theme among homeowners, with 69% of people wanting natural grass and trees, while 51% desire areas to grow fruit and vegetables.

Eight out of 10 respondents said their dream garden would be teeming with wildlife and that they would like to encourage animals into their garden.

Meanwhile, the survey revealed that garden furnishings such as decking and ponds are no longer on the wish list, as Brits favour more extravagant purchases like hot tubs and outdoor heating.

It also revealed that Britons see their garden as a hub for socialising, with 56% dreaming of outdoor eating areas, 47% wanting play features and 57% putting cooking facilities in their ideal garden.

Revealing further details about their garden goals, 60% of Britons said they would like it to be flat and 57% of the public would like all day sun.

Alongside the survey, MyVoucherCodes created a 360-degree video (see above) of Britain’s dream garden using CGI with the help of Stephen Thomas from CGNerd.
