To help each zodiac sign uncover and understand its own thrifting destiny, we enlisted astrologist Michaele Lehman, founder of Sky and Sea Astrology, to share insights specifically related to all things vintage. (Travel enthusiasts, take note: She also works as an astrologer at Wildflower Farms, a luxury country retreat in upstate New York.)

Psst: Legend has it that brass symbolizes prosperity, good fortune, and positive energy—and who doesn’t want more of that?

April 20-May 20

Finally—spring is on the horizon, and it’s all about the small, thoughtful details this season. Give your pillows a good fluff, seek out new farmhouse-friendly linens (French torchons, perhaps?), and display your freshly cut tulips in a pretty jadeite pitcher. With so many delightful and whimsical vintage Etsy shops out there, treat yourself to a birthday gift—perhaps a vintage find that represents renewal, such as a brass butterfly trinket dish or tree of life print.

May 21-June 20

All of that frantic spring cleaning means one thing: Tag sale season. Stay on the lookout for signs advertising sales in surrounding neighborhoods—this may be your golden opportunity to score a larger dining room table, barrister bookcase, or giant set of vintage Nancy Drew novels. That is, if you get there early enough.

Have you always dreamed of visiting the famous Round Top antiques shows? Create your own mini version in your own backyard. Your self-expressive nature has you visualizing a smaller friends-and-family antiques show (or communal closet clean-out). Pick a date, invite friends with the best taste to participate, and hire a local banjo player to up the ambience.

August 23-September 22

Whether your Easter plans entail hosting or traveling, you are feeling especially festive and upbeat. At thrift shops, stay on the lookout for antique baskets you can use for egg hunts or centerpieces, brass bunny figurines you can gift a host, or hand-painted porcelain eggs in your favorite pastels to pepper down the mantel.

September 23-October 22

With Memorial Day seemingly around the corner, you can look forward to a refreshing long weekend and a chance to infuse your home with additional patriotic charm in the form of vintage flags and antique bunting. When Saturday rolls around, consider hosting friends for a backyard picnic that gives you an excuse to bring out your collectible woven baskets and patriotic glassware.

October 23-November 21

You may find yourself feeling called to the kitchen this month. Embrace this desire by donning your oldest apron and whipping out a vintage cookbook for some retro baking inspiration. A trip to local Goodwill store may also serve up an abundance of collectible Pyrex and stoneware, so stock up while you can. While you’re at it, add some vintage rolling pins and keepsake cookie cutters to your cart.

November 22-December 21

If you’re feeling the urge to reorganize, try seeking out a post office mail sorter, which will serve as a stylish and functional statement piece in your entry. Choose one that comes from a state you feel drawn to, or with an origin story that speaks to you. Not only will this increase the order and efficiency in your home, it’ll make for a great front-and-center conversation piece.
