Apple Cider Fondue

Break out your vintage fondue set! We've got the ultimate fall dinner party treat for you. Apple cider adds a touch of sweet autumn goodness to this classic cheesy dip. It's perfect for a cool weather party on the back patio!

Ingredients

  • 16 oz. Gruyère, grated and at room temperature (about 4 cups)
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 1/3 cups fresh apple cider
  • 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Pinch freshly ground nutmeg
  • Sliced apples, sliced pears, and sliced baguette, for dipping

Directions

    1. Step 1Stir together Gruyère and cornstarch in a bowl. Combine apple cider and vinegar in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer. Whisk cheese mixture into cider, by the handful, until smooth and blended. Whisk in pepper and nutmeg. Serve immediately with apples, pears, and baguette for dipping.

Tip: Room temperature cheese melts easier and prevents the fondue from clumping.
