Battle on the Beach is back! The HGTV competition series took a year off last summer, but now it’s returning with some new (but familiar) faces.
In 2025, Battle on the Beach was one of the many HGTV shows that hit the chopping block, according to former host Alison Victoria. On an episode of her podcast, she said, “I did a show called Battle on the Beach. I love that show. It was so fun and funny. And then all of a sudden, I watched the episode, I’m like, ‘Well, where’d all that [great content] go?’ I get it, it’s a lot of content to try to put into 42 minutes, but where is it? Where’s the great editing? You’ll lose a show that way. I truly believe that. Battle on the Beach did not get picked back up, which is sad, because it was like adult spring break.”
Alison starred on the show for four seasons alongside Ty Pennington and Taniya Nayak, serving as mentors for up-and-coming renovators as they updated beach houses and went head-to-head in design challenges.
Now, the show is coming back, but viewers will notice a major shakeup. When Battle on the Beach returns on June 1, Ty will be joined by Sarah Baeumler (Renovation Resort) and Mika Kleinschmidt (100 Day Dream Home). Sarah and her husband Bryan previously served as judges on the show. This time, that responsibility will fall to Renovation Alohastars Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama.
HGTV shared the news on Instagram, and fans seem pleased by the change. “Not sure how I am going to pick a favorite team. This is going to be epic!” one wrote. Another said, “Oooo switching it up!!! I’m excited to see this season.” Another viewer commented, “Never watched this before because of the people judging/hosting… BUT we will definitely be watching with Tristyn, Kamohai, and Mika!!!”
What do you think about the new cast? Tune in to HGTV on June 1 to see how it shakes out!
